Alzheimer's Community Care Secures Funding for 58 New Day Center Participants

Alzheimer's Community Care (ACC), a Florida-based nonprofit specializing in dementia-specific services, has announced additional funding for its Specialized Adult Alzheimer's Day Centers. The funding will cover day center attendance expenses for up to 58 new participants with dementia-related disorders, offering services five days a week for eight months. ACC operates multiple day centers across Palm Beach, Martin, and St. Lucie counties, with a full list of centers and hours available here.

The day centers provide a structured environment where patients engage in enrichment activities such as art therapy, music therapy, and robotic pet therapy, while also receiving breakfast and lunch. The program aims to give caregivers a much-needed break, allowing them time for work, errands, or self-care. "ACC is committed to providing specialized, compassionate care to families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer's and related dementias," said ACC President and CEO David Franklin. "We are excited about this new funding, with which we can extend our day center services to more families and caregivers needing respite."

The announcement comes as demand for dementia care services continues to rise, with an estimated 6.7 million Americans aged 65 and older living with Alzheimer's disease in 2023, according to the Alzheimer's Association. The funding is limited and spaces are expected to fill quickly. Interested individuals can contact ACC's intake department at 561-683-2700 or through the Contact Us page on their website.

Alzheimer's Community Care, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has served South Florida families for over 20 years, focusing on community-based, family-centered care. The organization emphasizes that "where there is help, there is hope," and this funding represents a significant step in expanding access to its services. For caregivers, the day centers offer a lifeline, reducing stress and enabling them to continue providing care at home. The new funding underscores ACC's commitment to supporting families facing the challenges of dementia.
