Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced the final closing of the sale of its 40% participating interest in the Evesham Macklin oil and gas lands in Saskatchewan, with all payments received and deposited. The transaction, which had conditional approval from the TSX Venture Exchange, removed a $3.8 million debt from the company's books and provided $1 million in net proceeds.
As previously announced in January 2026, the company's wholly-owned subsidiary EnerCam Exploration Ltd. entered into an Agreement of Purchase and Sale with 2196231 Alberta Ltd., an arm's length party, for a purchase price of $4.8 million. The final payment of $375,000 was received on March 1, 2026, completing the deal. Shareholder approval was obtained at the Annual General and Special Meeting on January 29, 2026, with over 99% of votes cast in favor.
CEO Delayne Weeks commented, "This transaction eliminates $3,800,000 in debt and provides the company with additional working capital. We can now focus our resources on advancing our Cambodian onshore Block VIII oil and gas project and our mineral exploration programs, which represent the highest potential for growth and value creation." Weeks emphasized that discovering oil and gas in Cambodia would be a "country changer," bringing energy independence and reducing hydrocarbon imports.
Angkor Resources Corp. is a public company listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange, focusing on mineral and energy solutions in Cambodia. Its mineral subsidiary, Angkor Gold Corp., holds two mineral exploration licenses with multiple copper and gold prospects. The company completed seismic surveys in 2025, identifying multiple drill targets, and is advancing an Environmental Impact Assessment and drilling plans for Cambodia's first onshore exploratory wells.
This strategic divestiture allows Angkor to concentrate on high-potential projects in Cambodia, aligning with its mission to prove the country as an oil and gas producing nation. For more information, visit the company's website at angkorresources.com.
