Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced that its subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co. Ltd. (Cambodia), has identified a second drill target from a newly recognized anticline in the Central Bokor Basin on Block VIII. This development follows the completion of a 2-D seismic program, which has revealed two promising structures with clear four-way closure, indicating significant potential for oil and gas reserves.
The new Central Bokor Lead, similar to the previously identified South Bokor lead, exhibits a rough depth of 900-1200 meters and covers approximately 60 square kilometers of closure. Keith Edwards, Technical Manager for EnerCam, noted that the Central Bokor structure shows hints of east-west faulting and possibly three separate high points, providing confidence in the geological interpretation.
CEO Delayne Weeks highlighted the positive implications of this discovery, stating that the identification of two clear drill targets from the seismic program is extremely encouraging. The South Bokor lead spans up to 48 square kilometers, while Central Bokor covers up to 60 square kilometers, both of which are significant in size. The company continues to process and interpret additional seismic lines to refine drilling plans.
The seismic program consists of 24 lines, with ongoing processing expected to provide further insights. Angkor Resources is committed to building a comprehensive drilling plan based on each segment of seismic data as it becomes available. The company's efforts in Cambodia are part of a broader strategy to optimize energy and mineral resources, including a carbon capture and gas conservation project in Saskatchewan, Canada, through its subsidiary EnerCam Exploration Ltd.
