ARC Clean Technology Closes Series B Financing to Advance Small Modular Nuclear Reactor

ARC Clean Technology (ARC), a developer of advanced small modular reactors (aSMRs), announced the successful closing of its Series B financing round on December 16, 2025. The round attracted a diverse group of new and existing investors from the energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors, including Xplor Ventures, Hennessy Capital Group, Cleantech Ventures, Core Synergy, and Banpu Ventures. Proceeds will advance commercialization programs for the ARC-100, a 100 MWe advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor.

The funding supports ARC's ongoing work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), its collaboration agreement with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) for global aSMR fleet deployment, and Canadian project development with strategic partner Hatch. Amar Jolly, Managing Director, Power at Hatch, stated, "Hatch has been working closely with ARC since 2022, and we are pleased to see the significant progress the company has made toward deploying the ARC-100. Its high-temperature, zero-emission design is ideally suited to power hyperscale data centers and heavy industry."

As ARC moves into its next commercialization phase, James Wolf has been appointed CEO, while Bob Braun continues to lead Canadian operations. Wolf commented, "This investment reflects strong confidence in ARC's progress and the capability of the ARC-100 to deliver reliable, clean heat and power for energy-intensive industries and next-generation data centers. The financing enables us to accelerate our deployment with our partners in the United States, Canada, and internationally."

ARC's simple advanced reactor design, based on proven sodium-cooled fast reactor technology, has generated interest from multiple jurisdictions and project developers seeking reliable, clean energy for AI data centers, industrial, and on-grid applications. In the United States, ARC is a grant funding awardee of the DOE Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. In Canada, ARC has been working with New Brunswick Power on a commercial demonstration at the Point Lepreau site. In 2023, New Brunswick Power submitted a License to Prepare Site application to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) for the ARC-100 project, and in 2025 ARC completed Phase 2 of the CNSC's Vendor Design Review. ARC is the only advanced reactor technology in Canada to achieve both milestones. Additionally, ARC formed NuARC with Calgary-based Nucleon Energy to develop the ARC-100 in Alberta, Canada, with site evaluations underway.

The successful Series B closing marks a significant step toward deploying the ARC-100, which aims to provide safe, reliable, and economical carbon-free power for electricity, industrial applications, and the growing demand from AI data centers. ARC's technology leverages 30 years of prototype performance, and its modular design offers 100 megawatts of energy. The company has offices in Washington, DC and New Brunswick, Canada.
