Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, a coffee franchise known for its premium Hawaiian coffees and community connections, will open its newest location on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 2850 Baseline Rd. in Boulder, Colorado. The café will offer handcrafted coffees, branded merchandise, and a food menu with a Hawaiian twist, followed by a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring free giveaways, live Hawaiian music, hula, and burros.
The Boulder location is owned and operated by local entrepreneur Beth Deasy, alongside Chief Operating Officer Andi Nakata and Chief Experience Officer Stephanie Hooper. Deasy, an experienced multi-unit franchisee, previously worked with Nakata and Hooper at a Denver-area gymnastics center and multiple Primrose Schools. The trio brings a people-first culture to the new shop, which includes two patios, an upstairs outdoor fireplace, and a team of 24 local baristas, many of whom are University of Colorado students. Steps from campus and dorms, the café aims to be a study spot, meeting place, and community hub.
“We’re bringing the warm aloha spirit to Boulder! Craft coffee, friendly faces, and a welcoming spot between campus and the dorms where study sessions and hangouts for coffee lovers of all ages can share in our ‘ohana,” said Deasy. “This newest Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii cafe is about more than coffee—it’s about creating a relaxing space for the Boulder community.”
In addition to premium Hawaiian coffees, the café serves blended drinks, signature lattes, cold brews, teas, and innovative foods with a Hawaiian twist. Guests can purchase Hawaiian blends, single-origin coffee beans including 100% Kona, single serve pods, flavored coffee, and branded merchandise. Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, said, “As a Colorado-based franchise company, I have always loved and appreciated the way that Boulder ‘shows up’ as a community for each other. With our origins from Hawaii, we too share that same commitment to ‘Ohana (family) and investment as an integral part of the community.”
Guests can join ‘Ohana Rewards, the brand’s loyalty program, which offers $5 off and 89 Lei (points) after the first purchase. The Boulder location will be open Monday–Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with mobile and delivery options coming soon. Deasy also plans to open a second Bad Ass Coffee at Lakewood’s Belmar shopping center during the winter holiday season. The brand has set aggressive expansion plans to open multiple new locations over the next five years, with territories available nationwide.
