Boerne’s Dickens on Main Marks 25 Years of Holiday Magic

Boerne’s 25th annual Dickens on Main holiday event will take place November 28 and 29, transforming the city’s Hill Country Mile into a vintage snowy Christmas wonderland. The celebration, which begins during Thanksgiving weekend, includes food trucks, unique vendors, carolers, Victorian-themed characters, and street performers along Main Street. The official tree lighting will occur at Main Plaza on Friday at 6 p.m., with streets closing each night at 4 p.m. Parking is available on adjacent streets and lots on a first-come, first-served basis.

The following weekend, December 5 and 6, Boerne hosts a separate event featuring the annual Weihnachts Parade on Saturday, where more than 100 lighted floats will travel down Main Street, and shops will remain open late. Friday’s Wassail Walk and Caroling Contest kicks off the weekend. The festivities continue December 12-14 with KinderFest and the Cowboy Christmas Market in Main Plaza, offering a more relaxed holiday atmosphere.

Dickens on Main highlights include live music and carolers, an exciting ice carving show set to music, shops and restaurants opening as early as 10 a.m., roving street performers, a “Birds of Prey” live show by Last Chance Forever, unique Christmas shopping, countless photo opportunities, and tasty food and drinks available from local restaurants and food vendors.

“Dickens on Main is such a special tradition for Boerne. It brings our community together and welcomes visitors to experience the magic of the Hill Country during the holidays. It’s the perfect way to kick off the season with joy, connection and small-town charm,” said Larry Woods, Director of Visit Boerne.
