AUSTIN, TX – Bruce Allen Craig, CEO and President of Big Easy Entertainment, is spotlighting the community impact of the recent Dancing with the Stars Austin event, which raised critical funds for the Center for Child Protection. The event, held on December 6, brought together community leaders, performers, sponsors, and volunteers, ultimately raising over $2.95 million to support services for children and families in the Austin area.
Craig, who participated as a dancer, emphasized that the evening was about more than performance. "The passion, energy, and commitment from everyone involved truly stood out. This wasn't about performance. It was about showing up for children who need protection and care," Craig said. The funds will directly support the Center for Child Protection, which serves as the first stop for children in Travis County when abuse is suspected, offering forensic interviews, medical evaluations, therapy, and family advocacy.
Craig also acknowledged the behind-the-scenes contributors, stating, "I want to congratulate every dancer, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter. Your commitment didn't just make the event successful — it made a real difference for children and families." Reflecting on his involvement, Craig noted that participation was about responsibility, not recognition. "I'm proud to have played a small part. Moments like this remind you that leadership extends beyond business," he said.
The event's success underscores the power of community collaboration. Craig encouraged individuals to learn more about the Center for Child Protection and consider supporting organizations making a direct impact.
