The 20th edition of Eco Expo Asia, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), will take place from 28 to 31 October at AsiaWorld-Expo. The expo, themed 'Green Innovations for Carbon Neutrality,' will showcase global solutions to accelerate carbon reduction goals, featuring over 300 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions.
HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Jenny Koo highlighted the significance of the event, noting that President Xi Jinping's commitment at the United Nations Climate Summit to reduce China's net greenhouse gas emissions by 7-10% from peak levels by 2035 will boost demand for environmental products. Ms Koo stated that the expo serves as a business platform for ESG and sustainable solutions, showcasing the latest products and technologies in new energy, green living, and environmental protection.
The expo will spotlight three key areas: Circular Economy and Waste Management, Green & Smart Mobility, and ESG-related Services. In Circular Economy and Waste Management, Hong Kong exhibitor Green AI Technology Limited will display a smart sorting bin powered by machine vision and AI algorithms. China Everbright Environment Group Limited will present waste-to-energy solutions that transform waste into resources. In Green & Smart Mobility, CUHK-incubated start-up Luquos Energy Limited will showcase the world's first commercialised sulphur-based flow battery energy storage system, at nearly half the cost of lithium batteries. First-time exhibitor Infore Enviro Technology Group Co., Ltd will display its electric compactor truck. For ESG-related services, CECEP (Hong Kong) Investment Co. Ltd will showcase EnvAI, a one-stop ESG service tool, while Llewellyn and Partners Company Limited will present AutoTwin, an AI-powered integrated management platform for the construction industry.
The highlight event, Eco Asia Conference, will bring together global officials and experts to exchange insights on pressing environmental issues. On 28 October, the conference will focus on circular economy developments, including the launch of the Hong Kong Circular Built Environment Guidebook. On 30 October, the conference will cover 'Building a Sustainable Future: Gearing Towards a Net-Zero Built Environment' and 'Green & Smart Mobility - Envisioning the Future of Transportation.' Other activities include the FHKI Q-Mark Low Carbon Restaurant Award 2025 on 28 October and the 6th Hydrogen Economy Forum on 29 October, featuring representatives from Towngas and experts from the Chinese Mainland and overseas. The Experience Sharing Forum on Promoting Environmental Business in Overseas Markets on 29 October will invite representatives from Belt and Road countries to introduce investment policies.
The expo also supports start-ups through the Startup Edge Forum and a series of activities showcasing Hong Kong's green innovations. Public Day on 31 October will offer complimentary admission, featuring green talks, workshops, and a Green Mart. Visitors can participate in workshops such as a Beeswax Wrap Workshop and a Board Game Workshop, and learn from environmental KOL Yeung Ting (aka imsheeppoo) about joyful green living.
