Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, a coffee franchise known for its premium Hawaiian coffees and adventurous spirit, will open its newest location in Madison, New Jersey on September 30th. Located at 14 Lincoln Place, the new café will offer handcrafted coffees, branded merchandise, and a food menu with a Hawaiian twist. The franchise is owned by father-son duo Jim and Tyler Bowman, New Jersey natives with extensive business experience. Jim Bowman previously owned several technology companies and a 7-Eleven franchise, while Tyler Bowman brings nearly two decades of expertise in the entertainment and hospitality industry. Together, they have signed a multi-unit deal and plan to open at least six additional Bad Ass Coffee locations across New Jersey, starting with the Madison café.
“As lifelong New Jerseyans, we’re excited to bring something bold and different to Madison with Bad Ass Coffee,” said Tyler Bowman. “This isn’t just about serving coffee, it’s about creating an energetic, welcoming space where the community can come together. Madison is just the start, and we can’t wait to grow and share this experience across the state.” The new location aims to become a community hub, offering an island-inspired experience with nods to the brand’s Hawaiian roots. Guests can enjoy signature offerings such as blended drinks, lattes, cold brews, and teas, along with innovative foods. For those who want to take the taste of Hawaii home, the café will sell Hawaiian blends, single-origin coffee beans including 100% Kona, single-serve pods, flavored coffee, and branded merchandise.
Scott Snyder, CEO of Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We’re very excited to become an active member of the Madison, NJ community and fortunate to have such experienced and committed franchise partners in Jim & Tyler Bowman to bring a new premium Hawaiian coffee experience to life in Madison. With the new location in the center of the transportation hub, there will be no better way to ‘make it a badass day’ than by starting that day at Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii.” The café will participate in the brand’s loyalty program, ‘Ohana Rewards, offering new members $5 off and 89 Lei (points) after their first purchase. A two-day grand opening celebration with giveaways, games, and a giveback initiative with a charity partner will be held in the weeks following the opening.
Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii was founded on the Big Island in 1989, with a mission to share American-grown, premium Hawaiian coffee. The brand’s name pays homage to the donkeys that carried coffee beans down the steep mountains of the Big Island, known as the “Bad Ass Ones” for their strong, stubborn nature. Today, the company sources beans from the Kona region, Kauai, and Maui. With rapid expansion underway, the brand has set aggressive plans to open multiple new locations over the next five years, with territories available nationwide. The Madison location will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit https://badasscoffee.com/.
