The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) today officially opened its seven flagship lifestyle and licensing events, bringing together over 5,600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions. The events, held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo, run from today until 30 April, with the licensing show concluding on 29 April. The fairs include the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle, Fashion InStyle, Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong, Hong Kong International Licensing Show, and the Asian Licensing Conference.
HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong emphasized Hong Kong's role as a super connector and super value-adder, bridging the Chinese Mainland's vast market with the global economy. "Backed by its solid strengths, well-developed innovation ecosystem and robust intellectual property infrastructure, Hong Kong is the ideal base for companies to grow their businesses, pursue creativity and innovation, and bring them to commercial fruition," Chong said.
The Gifts & Premium Fair and Home InStyle feature a new "Reimagine" themed floor at HKCEC Hall 5, offering a one-stop overview of global trends in lifestyle homeware and gifting products. Notable launches include the Camel Brand MINI20 thermos blind box, co-created with Hong Kong illustrators, and an infection-prevention mobile toilet from PREN Ltd that requires no installation or water.
The Hall of Fine Designs at the Gifts & Premium Fair gathers over 100 exhibitors showcasing premium design-led products, including smart collectibles and nostalgic blind boxes. Meanwhile, Home InStyle presents the Gerontech and Innovative Material Pavilion, funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, featuring over 20 local enterprises with products like the TechFitX Smart Sports Training System for seniors and biodegradable tableware made from lotus stems.
Fashion InStyle highlights material innovation through the NEXT zone, where over 60 exhibitors showcase sustainable materials. Exhibitors include Bloom Biotech with microalgae leather, Spinnova PLC with wood-based textile fibre, and Thai Son S.P Co. with ramie fabric. Project ambassador Han Chong, founder of self-portrait, leads local designer brands in creating cross-disciplinary collections using advanced materials like H2 fabric and mycelium leather.
The Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair and DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong focus on eco-friendly solutions, featuring FSC-certified non-plastic packaging, RFID labels with paper-based inner layers, and paper-pulp packaging from agricultural waste. DeLuxe PrintPack also showcases 3D rotating music boxes and dual-purpose gift packaging.
The Hong Kong International Licensing Show introduces a new IP and e-Commerce Support Services zone, uniting e-commerce platforms, KOLs, and marketing firms to help brands capitalize on e-commerce growth. Headline IPs include Potatoz, LuLu the Piggy, and Café de Bollo, alongside Chinese Mainland, Korean, and Thai IPs. The Design Licensing and Business (DLAB) Hong Kong Pavilion features nearly 40 exhibitors of original Hong Kong brands and IPs.
The concurrent Asian Licensing Conference features industry leaders discussing global trends, including Maura Regan of Licensing International on "Global Licensing Trends to Watch in 2026," and sessions on sports licensing for the FIFA World Cup and Virtual YouTubers connecting with Gen Z.
