Ocumetics Completes One-Month Postoperative Examinations of First Implant Patients

Ocumetics Technology Corp. (TSXV: OTC) (OTCQB: OTCFF) (FRA: 2QBO) announced on September 16, 2025, that it has completed one-month postoperative examinations of the first patients implanted with the Ocumetics Accommodating Intraocular Lens. The surgeries took place in Mexico City on August 15, 2025, as part of the company’s first-in-human clinical trial.

Dean Burns, President and CEO of Ocumetics, stated that the examinations on September 12 observed progress in recovery and included several visual acuity measurements. The clinical team will analyze the patient reports early this week and provide an update shortly. The company’s clinical protocol is designed to address three patient groups; currently, Group 1 patients are being treated, with additional surgeries scheduled for September 24, 2025.

The primary endpoints of the study focus on safety and distance vision correction, aiming to establish a baseline of patient health and assess the lens’s ability to restore far vision. Secondary endpoints include product handling and surgical delivery, as well as near reading ability, evaluating the lens’s capacity to restore close-range vision. The Ocumetics Lens is designed to fit within the eye’s natural lens compartment, potentially eliminating the need for corrective lenses by allowing natural muscle activity to shift focus from distance to near.

This update is significant as it marks a milestone in the clinical development of a technology that could transform the ophthalmic industry. The results of these examinations will provide early indications of the lens’s safety and effectiveness, which are critical for future regulatory approvals and commercialization. Investors and patients are keenly awaiting the outcomes, as successful results could position Ocumetics as a leader in advanced vision correction solutions.
