The Second Annual Seattle Law Rocks concert, held on September 25 at The Crocodile, set a new fundraising record for the Seattle event, raising $105,000 for music education programs benefiting local youth. The event, sponsored by Herschensohn Law Firm, featured six amateur bands composed of Seattle legal professionals competing in a battle of the bands format to support music education for underprivileged children.
Law Rocks, an international foundation, partners with local nonprofits in each host city to fund music education through its Music Matters grant program. Since implementing the grant two years ago, the organization has raised $9 million globally and toured 31 cities across five continents. The Seattle concert, which sold over 600 tickets, demonstrated the local legal community's dedication to charitable giving.
The Overall Winner and Hustle & Heart Award was presented to The Funk Docket, a band featuring talent from Schroeter Goldmark & Bender, The Law Offices of Edward H. Moore, Keller Rohrback, and L.M. Jones. Their performance benefited the Academy for Creating Excellence (ACE). The Judges' Choice Award went to The Lumberjax, which included members from Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness, with proceeds supporting Teen Talking Circles.
Nick Child, founder of Law Rocks, emphasized the dual mission of the event: Our goal is to raise money for those less fortunate than ourselves, while giving the legal industry the chance to realize their potential as rock stars!
The concert allowed legal professionals to showcase their musical talents while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Zach Herschensohn, lead attorney at Herschensohn Law Firm, PLLC, expressed pride in the firm's sponsorship role. The firm, known for its record-setting personal injury victories, sees the event as an opportunity to give back to the community. We are honored to support an initiative that combines the power of generosity with the power of music,
said Herschensohn.
With $105,000 raised locally, most funds will remain in Seattle to benefit youth music programs. Organizers anticipate even higher turnout for the 2026 event, building on the momentum of this year's success.
