Ranjeet Sundher, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tactical Resources, a mineral exploration and development company focused on U.S.-made rare earth elements (REEs), recently discussed the company's strategic milestones and the importance of domestic rare earth production. In a conversation with CityBiz, Sundher highlighted the critical need for an integrated American rare earth supply chain, emphasizing that Tactical Resources is addressing this need through its flagship Peak Project in Texas.
Tactical Resources is a North American REE exploration and development company with a focus on American assets for American supply and production. The company's core pillars include prioritizing American assets, targeting advanced projects with cost benefits and potential for fast-track production, and focusing on clean processing. The Peak Project, located southeast of El Paso, Texas, is an existing operational mine with advanced permitting and proven REE-enriched tailings. It is one of only a few rare earth hard rock direct-leach-extractable projects globally, which allows the company to bypass extra processing steps, reducing costs and time to market. The project also benefits from extensive infrastructure, including highway and rail access, and a significant byproduct stockpile from the Sierra Blanca Quarry that can be converted into valuable rare earth material.
Key milestones for Tactical Resources include securing a strategic agreement with Sierra Blanca Quarry, advancing technical progress, and signing a business combination agreement with Plum Acquisition Corp. III to pursue a Nasdaq listing. Sundher believes this transaction will enable the company's next stage of growth and access to additional capital. Rare earths are indispensable for technologies such as smartphones, electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, humanoid robotics, and advanced defense systems, but Chinese-controlled supply chains pose vulnerabilities. The U.S. government is keen on supporting domestic rare earth production through public-private partnerships, funding, and strategic pricing strategies to build a robust American supply chain.
Looking ahead, Tactical Resources is focused on its Nasdaq listing, followed by pilot testing, flowsheet optimization, and economic and technical studies. The long-term plan includes constructing and commercializing a rare earth extraction facility at the Peak Project. Sundher expressed excitement about the opportunities ahead, stating that the company has the right go-to-market plan and a differentiated asset to capitalize on the immense opportunities in the rare earth sector.
