Oviedo, Florida – The Dog Stop, the all-inclusive and award-winning dog care brand, is set to open its newest location at 1370 Oviedo Mall Blvd in Oviedo, Florida, on October 18. The expansion into Oviedo marks a significant addition to the region's pet care landscape, offering a comprehensive range of services from luxury boarding to interactive daycare, expert training, spa-like grooming, and premium retail products. To celebrate the opening, The Dog Stop Oviedo will host a Halloween-themed grand opening celebration on October 25, featuring a dog costume contest, giveaways, and activities for the local dog community.
The Oviedo location is owned by Justin Steiner, a Vanderbilt Business School valedictorian who previously worked as a consultant in technology and healthcare before moving to Orlando. Dissatisfied with the corporate focus on politics and quarterly numbers, Steiner is pursuing a lifelong dream by entering the pet care industry, prioritizing relationships and customer service. His decision to join The Dog Stop stems from a commitment to raising the standard of pet care, influenced by his experience with rescued greyhounds and a negative incident at a boarding facility. Steiner was drawn to the brand's philosophy, shared by co-founder Jesse Coslov, that pets are part of the family. "I want each pet and owner in our community to have a place they can trust completely, where safety and happiness come first," Steiner said.
Joining Steiner is General Manager Shaun Philbrook, a UCF graduate and former K9 officer with the Winter Springs Police Department. Philbrook's extensive expertise in canine behavior and psychology, developed over a 15-year career working with dogs in high-pressure environments, ensures that the Oviedo location will provide exceptional care. The 10,000-square-foot facility will offer The Dog Stop's full suite of services, including luxury boarding, interactive daycare, expert training, and spa-like grooming. Steiner plans to expand to five locations in the region and is actively seeking rescue partnerships to host adoption events in the lobby.
"Justin embodies everything we look for in a The Dog Stop owner," said Coslov. "His passion and love for dogs will ensure he provides the high standard of care we are committed to, and we are excited to watch Central Florida benefit from his dedication and vision." The Dog Stop, founded in 2009 and franchising since 2013, currently serves dogs in 39 locations across 15 states, with over 50 new locations coming soon.
