The Third Annual Hill Country Mile Rod Run is set to take over downtown Boerne, Texas, from October 10 to 12, 2025, offering a weekend packed with classic car exhibitions, live music, and family activities. Organized by Visit Boerne, the event aims to celebrate American automotive heritage and has grown into a community staple since its inception.
The festivities kick off on Friday, October 10, with a Pre-Show Party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on West San Antonio Road, adjacent to Main Plaza. Participants can register early, cruise the iconic Hill Country Mile (Main Street), and enjoy live music. The main car show occurs Saturday, October 11, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring hundreds of classic American vehicles. Registration is $40 per vehicle, which includes an event T-shirt, Sunday drive map, and swag. Spectators are welcome free of charge.
This year, the event has expanded its eligibility to include American-made cars and trucks built in 1985 or earlier, as well as race cars, broadening participation. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Main Plaza gazebo, with all registered vehicles automatically considered for multiple categories. On Sunday, October 12, enthusiasts can join the Sunday Rod Run, a leisurely cruise through the scenic Hill Country roads.
"This event has grown into an annual community staple in downtown Boerne, bringing together enthusiasts, restorers, and families for a shared passion of American automotive heritage," said Larry Woods, Director of Visit Boerne. The event not only showcases classic cars but also boosts local tourism, as visitors are encouraged to explore Boerne's boutique hotels, bed-and-breakfasts, shopping, dining, and outdoor activities along the Hill Country Mile.
The Hill Country Mile Rod Run, originally known as the Key to the Hills Rod Run, has evolved into a beloved tradition that unites car lovers and families for a weekend of camaraderie and heritage. For more details, visit the official event page at Visit Boerne's website.
