Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) announced that an exploration team has been mobilized to its flagship Atsutla Gold project in northwestern British Columbia. The 100%-owned project covers over 40,000 hectares and is located 70 km south of the Yukon-British Columbia border and 120 km northwest of Dease Lake. The company recently consolidated key ground near the Highlands zone, which hosts the highest gold grades sampled on the property to date, up to 630 g/t gold.
The newly acquired ground consists of 528 hectares, with 396 hectares obtained through staking and 132 hectares through a purchase agreement. The area has not yet been explored for gold by the company. The exploration team will conduct first-pass reconnaissance, including geological mapping, prospecting, and soil sampling, and will ground-truth drill collar locations in the Highlands zone area to prepare for a future drill program.
CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt stated, "Since its discovery in 2020, the Atsutla Gold project has remained Trailbreaker's flagship property for good reason. Last year we advanced the Swan zone to a drill-ready stage, and we hope to do the same with the Highlands zone this year. We now have a significant piece of ground consolidated in the Highlands zone area which, to our knowledge, is virtually unexplored."
The Highlands zone hosts widespread gold mineralization over a 750 x 600-metre area, with gold-bearing quartz veins confined to shallow-dipping fault structures traced for 3.5 km north (Snook zone) and 1.5 km east (Christmas Creek zone). This continuity suggests potential for additional mineralization in the newly consolidated ground west of the Highlands zone, which is the primary goal of the exploration program.
The Atsutla Gold project is fully permitted for drilling, with two separate targets representing distinct deposit settings: the Highlands zone as a high-grade orogenic gold discovery, and the Swan zone, 26 km southeast, as a porphyry copper-gold-silver target.
Under the purchase agreement signed August 26, 2025, Trailbreaker will pay CAD $10,000 for a 100% interest in the 132-hectare parcel, with the vendor retaining a 2.0% net smelter return royalty, reducible to 1.0% through a $1,000,000 cash payment.
The Atsutla Gold project is centered over the Teslin-Thibert fault system, with gold mineralization associated with Mesozoic batholitic intrusions. Since discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has outlined five significant zones of gold mineralization across 26 kilometers: Highlands, Christmas Creek, Snook, Willie Jack, and Swan zones.
