Western Sports Foundation Launches Western Social Event to Support Rodeo Athletes

The Western Sports Foundation (WSF) has announced the inaugural Western Social, a fundraising event set for Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the John Wayne: An American Experience in the Fort Worth Stockyards. This reimagined event replaces the organization's traditional gala, aiming to blend the spirit of the western lifestyle with community engagement and support for rodeo athletes.

The Western Social will feature an atmosphere inspired by a modern fair, including midway-style activations, interactive giving stations, and robust food stations. Attendees will have opportunities to connect with partners, athletes, and the western community. Highlights include interactive giving stations with fair-inspired games, a silent auction offering exclusive western fashion, art, and unique experiences, and a Boot Barn Photo Booth for capturing memories. Guests are encouraged to dress in Western Flair to showcase their personal style.

Funds raised through the event will directly benefit rodeo athletes through WSF's core service areas: financial assistance following injury, mental health and neurological support, and educational and career development programs. Tickets are available now at The Western Social.

"This event represents the next chapter for WSF," said Mai-Brit Harvey, Interim Executive Director of Western Sports Foundation. "The Western Social blends fun and philanthropy, while giving our community a chance to see the real impact their generosity has on rodeo athletes and their families."

The Western Social is designed to deepen connections between guests and the mission of supporting rodeo athletes, offering a fresh, engaging format that emphasizes interaction and purpose. The event underscores WSF's commitment to providing a lifeline to the athletes who define the western way of life, offering services ranging from crisis financial assistance to mental performance tools and scholarship opportunities.

The announcement of the Western Social highlights the importance of community support in sustaining rodeo athletes, who face unique challenges both inside and outside the arena. By transforming the traditional gala into a more accessible and engaging event, WSF aims to broaden its reach and impact, ensuring that rodeo athletes receive the support they need to thrive.
