The 15th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC) will be held on 17 and 18 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Co-organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the conference aligns with the 15th Five-Year Plan to bolster Hong Kong's status as an international shipping centre and policies in the 2025 Policy Address to advance maritime and aviation development.
Under the theme "Collaboration and Growth in the New Trade Landscape", ALMAC is expected to attract 2,300 participants from over 40 countries and regions, featuring more than 80 speakers. The conference will focus on three major trends: supply chain diversification and opportunities in emerging markets, sustainability and green energy, and innovation and technology. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, emphasised that the event will highlight Hong Kong's advantages as a global business hub, particularly in high-potential markets like the Middle East and ASEAN.
New thematic sessions will spotlight the Middle East and Central Asia. The session "Tapping the Middle East: Logistics, Innovation & Trade Potentials" will feature speakers such as Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer of Etihad Airways, and Christopher Cahill, Managing Director of GEODIS Middle East and India Sub-continent, discussing how the region is reshaping global trade. Another session, "Unlocking Central Asia: The Next Trade and Logistics Frontier", will analyse opportunities in Central Asia's supply chain sector, with speakers including Dr Ainur Amirbekova of QazTrade and Grégory Lecomte of the OECD.
The conference will also address green transformation. A session titled "Green Energy Forum: Fuels, Freight, and the Road to Net Zero" will explore pathways to a sustainable low-carbon future, featuring Essam Al Sheibany, Vice President of Sustainability at Asyad Group, and Dr Tryggvi Thor Herbertsson of Qair Group. Additionally, the low-altitude economy will be a focus, with a session on cargo drones and the debut of a Low-Altitude Economy Zone showcasing drones and urban air mobility technologies.
ALMAC will host around 20 thematic forums and workshops over two days, with representatives from leading brands like Procter & Gamble, HP, and Reckitt. The exhibition area will feature over 90 exhibitors, including first-time participants such as SF Express, Greater Bay Airlines, YunExpress, ZIM, and PayCargo. Business matching sessions will connect shippers and service providers, building on last year's success of over 330 sessions.
The Hong Kong's NextGen Logistician Awards Presentation Ceremony will be held on the second day, recognising young talents in innovative, smart, and green logistics. The conference underscores Hong Kong's role as a "superconnector" and "super value-adder" in global trade.
