The 19th Asian Financial Forum (AFF), co-organised by the Hong Kong SAR government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held on January 26-27, 2026, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme "Co-creating New Horizons Amid an Evolving Landscape," the forum introduces a new tagline, "Finance Empowering Business," and will feature the inaugural Global Business Summit focused on the deep integration of finance and the real economy. This expansion broadens the conversation beyond financial topics to high-value industries, aiming to unlock potential and drive innovation for stronger economic growth.
HKTDC Chairman Prof Frederick Ma highlighted the forum's growth over 18 years, bringing together over 1,000 speakers and 60,000 participants, establishing it as a flagship financial event in Asia and worldwide. The new Global Business Summit, co-organised with the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau and the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, will address trending topics such as artificial intelligence, new consumer trends, biomedicine, and green energy. Industry leaders will provide in-depth analyses of finance-real economy integration, exploring opportunities for mainland enterprises to go global and helping international firms establish operations in the Chinese Mainland market.
Maggie Ng, Chairperson of the AFF Steering Committee and HSBC Hong Kong’s CEO, expects over 3,600 participants from 60 countries and regions. Delegates will engage with industry leaders driving transformation across technology, consumer, healthcare, and finance sectors, while exploring Hong Kong’s latest advancements. The two-day agenda includes discussion panels on Global Economic Outlook, CIO Insights, Asset & Wealth Management, Trade Finance and Supply Chain Management, and Gold Exchange, evaluating the new economic landscape.
The forum also features AFF Deal-making, a global investment-matching platform co-organised with the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HKVCA). This year, it adopts a hybrid model with in-person sessions on January 26-27, followed by online networking until January 29. To date, AFF Deal-making has engaged over 8,000 companies and arranged more than 10,000 meetings, connecting project owners, private equity firms, investors, and professional service providers.
New additions include the FutureGreen Showcase, highlighting green development opportunities, and four key exhibition zones: FintechHK Start-up Salon, Global Investment Zone, and InnoVenture Salon. Over 140 exhibitors, including knowledge partners such as Bank of China (Hong Kong), CICC, EY, HSBC, Huatai International, and Standard Chartered Bank, will showcase innovative business concepts, green finance solutions, and technology applications. More details, including the speaker list and media registration, will be announced at a press conference on January 19.
