45Drives has announced the full program for its fourth annual Creator Summit, scheduled for October 20-22 in Wilmington, North Carolina. The event will unite influential technology creators, enterprise infrastructure leaders, open-source experts, AI researchers, academics, media figures, and film and VFX professionals to explore the future of artificial intelligence, data ownership, and modern computing infrastructure. The summit's significance lies in its deliberate convergence of enterprise and creative communities, which are increasingly interdependent as AI transforms both data center operations and content production.
The 2026 program features dedicated Enterprise and Creative tracks. Enterprise sessions will focus on private and on-premises AI, high-performance data systems, data sovereignty, cybersecurity, and open-source infrastructure—critical topics as organizations scale AI workloads. The Creative Track will examine how AI is reshaping production, editing, design, and storytelling. This dual focus highlights a growing recognition that data ownership and infrastructure control are not just IT concerns but foundational to creative independence.
Notable speakers include Tom Lawrence of Lawrence Systems, Wendell Wilson of Level1Techs, Jeff Geerling, Ed Rawlings of Unraid, and Brett Kelly, Technical Director at 45Drives and a Ceph Foundation board member. The lineup also features experts from JR Automation, Arista Networks, Niche VFX, Lighthouse Films, and Arizona State University, among others. Harvard educator and United Nations Senior Expert Alexander Puutio and PhillComm Global CEO Jon Lindsay Phillips will join a cross-disciplinary discussion on enterprise AI adoption.
“This is the strongest program we’ve assembled because it reflects how technology is actually moving,” said Dr. Doug Milburn, President of 45Drives. “Enterprise teams are bringing AI closer to their data, creators are building more of their workflows on infrastructure they control, and open-source communities are influencing both. Creator Summit puts those groups in the same room to work through the same questions and gives people something they can take back and use.”
The summit will be held across downtown Wilmington, with sessions at The Skyline Center and Union Station Auditorium. Highlights include a live 45Flow Stunt on October 21 and the AI High Speed Stunt on October 22, followed by an Enterprise AI Pulse panel that will examine private and on-prem AI, data sovereignty, workforce impact, and the evolving relationship between traditional tech media and independent creators. An invite-only Unraid event at Jengo’s Playhouse on October 20 will feature demonstrations of the 45HomeLab x Unraid Signature Series.
Sponsors include Seagate, Unraid, Michael Best, and Cintas, with Seagate maintaining a presence throughout. The event will also spotlight customers and ecosystem partners such as Cass County and JR Automation. Now in its fourth year, Creator Summit underscores the increasing influence of independent creators in enterprise technology and the need for open, controllable infrastructure. For 45Drives, a leader in open-source data storage and compute, the summit reinforces its commitment to giving organizations control of their data and technology stack. Registration and additional details are available on the 45Drives website, and the original release can be viewed on www.newmediawire.com.
