With exactly 100 days remaining until the opening of the 16th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2026), organizers in Zhuhai, Guangdong, have launched a countdown event that also celebrates the show's 30th anniversary. The milestone event, held on August 28, unveiled a commemorative logo featuring a three-dimensional, gold-toned "30" set against gradient ribbons in blue, purple, and magenta, symbolizing technological progress and the event's evolution.
Since its inception in 1996, Airshow China has grown from a modest exhibition space of 8,000 square meters to an expansive 450,000 square meters, with participating countries and regions leaping from 25 to 47. This growth underscores its status as one of the world's premier aerospace exhibitions, a point emphasized by Li Xiaodong, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Government of Zhuhai Municipality, who stated, "Airshow China has grown increasingly international, professional, and market-oriented, establishing itself as one of the world's premier airshows."
The countdown event featured a World Airshow Dialogue session where industry leaders discussed pressing topics such as global industrial-chain coordination, green aviation, and the low-altitude economy (advanced air mobility). Representatives from MAKS (International Aviation and Space Salon) and Boeing delivered video remarks, expressing enthusiasm for participating in the upcoming show and fostering deeper industrial exchanges. Dai Haibin, spokesperson for AVIC General Aircraft Company, highlighted the show's role in debuting key aircraft like the AG600 "Kunlong" amphibious aircraft, while Xu Shixin, Chief Operating Officer of Embraer China, noted the vast potential of the Chinese market and opportunities for cooperation in green aviation and eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft development.
The event also saw Zhuhai Airshow International Culture Communication Co., Ltd. sign IP merchandise cooperation agreements with partners including Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai, and Alipay (Hangzhou) Digital Service Technology Co., Ltd. These collaborations aim to integrate traditional culture with aerospace technology, develop AI-powered digital commemorative ticket stubs using NFC technology, and create derivative products based on sci-fi intellectual properties.
As Airshow China gears up for its 30th edition, scheduled for December 7-13, 2026, the event continues to benchmark itself against world-class exhibitions, contributing to the development of aviation industry clusters. With its rich history and forward-looking initiatives, Airshow China 2026 promises to be a landmark occasion for the global aviation community.
