The 16th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held on 16 and 17 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Under the theme "Driving Inclusive Growth through Innovation and Sustainability," the conference will focus on supply chain resilience, green energy, and digital transformation, with topics aligned to the National 15th Five-Year Plan, the HKSAR Government's first "Five-Year Plan for Hong Kong," and the latest Policy Address. This alignment underscores the event's importance in reinforcing Hong Kong's position as an international trade and maritime centre and an aviation hub.
Jacky Chung, Associate Executive Director of the HKTDC, highlighted that the conference will bring together around 80 distinguished speakers and over 2,300 participants from more than 40 countries and regions. He noted that amid geopolitical tensions, extreme weather, and the accelerating transition to sustainable development, the HKTDC will continue to align with national and HKSAR policies. "We are committed to promoting high-value-added supply chain services and green energy development in Hong Kong, while leveraging the city's strengths in financial, technology, arbitration and mediation and other professional services," Chung said. He added that Hong Kong's port is upgrading from a "traditional major port" to a "value-added port," accelerating digital, green, and smart development, and strengthening cooperation with Greater Bay Area ports to become a key maritime hub connecting South China with South America.
The conference will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, including John Lee, Chief Executive of the HKSAR, who will deliver a special address on the second day, and Professor Frederick Ma, Chairman of the HKTDC, who will give opening remarks. Jennifer Nordquist, Deputy Director-General of the World Trade Organization, will discuss supply chain resilience and how governments and businesses can strengthen collaboration to reduce uncertainties in global trade.
A major highlight is the first-ever thematic seminar on Silk Road Maritime, an initiative incorporated into the National 15th Five-Year Plan. Since its establishment in 2018, the Silk Road Maritime network has expanded to 160 routes connecting 153 ports in 50 countries and regions. Simon Bennett, Deputy Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping, will share insights on coordinated port development and supply chain risk management. The seminar reflects the conference's role in enhancing connectivity and supply chain stability.
The event will also address the green energy transition, with leaders from UPS, DHL Express, and Rystad Energy examining trends and developments. The exhibition will feature close to 100 exhibitors, including a new Green Energy Zone, and will host the LSCM Shipping Summit and the "Hong Kong's NextGen Logistician Awards 2026" Presentation Ceremony. Last year, ALMAC organised more than 400 business-matching sessions, and similar sessions will continue this year. The HKTDC, celebrating its 60th anniversary, promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment hub through international exhibitions, conferences, and business missions, and provides market insights via research reports and digital news channels.
