Elementera AI, a company specializing in helping brands maintain visibility in AI-driven search and recommendation systems, has secured a new angel investment from a Principal AI Scientist at Amazon who works on large language model research. The investment underscores the growing importance of answer engine optimization (AEO) as consumers increasingly turn to AI systems like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity for answers instead of traditional search engines.
The Amazon scientist, whose identity has not been disclosed, has tracked Elementera Co-founder and CEO Maziar Gomrokchi's work since his early days as a PhD researcher. That long-standing familiarity with Gomrokchi's technical expertise influenced the decision to invest. The investor stated, "Elementera is one of the few companies truly built for this moment. The team combines deep AI research experience with a clear understanding of where search, discovery, and brand visibility are heading. I believe their Lenz and Prizm products are positioned to play a leading role in the AI visibility market over the next three to five years."
Gomrokchi traces the roots of Elementera to a conference in 2016, where he observed the early reshaping of the technology industry by deep learning. He received summer offers from several tech giants, including OpenAI, which at the time was a small team working on open AI models. That experience gave him a preview of the transformative potential of AI in search and decision-making. "I knew that AI would not just change how software gets built, but how people search, compare, and decide what to buy, trust, or recommend," Gomrokchi said. This vision led him to assemble a team of AI researchers, engineers, and product leaders to create tools for businesses to stay visible and trusted as AI-driven search takes over.
Elementera's product suite includes Lenz and Prizm, which help brands understand and improve how they are interpreted, described, and cited across AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews. The company focuses on the shift from traditional search engine optimization (SEO) to generative engine optimization (GEO). Based in Maple Ridge, Canada, Elementera was founded by AI veterans from Microsoft, Shopify, IBM, Mila, and UC Berkeley. More information is available at https://www.elementera.com.
