The Supervisory Board of ams-OSRAM AG has approved a new contract for CEO Aldo Kamper, extending his term through September 30, 2031. The reappointment, effective October 1, 2026, ensures continuity in leadership as the company strengthens its position in the digital photonics market.
Dr. Margarete Haase, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, praised Kamper's strategic realignment of the company, which included the successful implementation of the 'Re-establish the Base' efficiency program. Under his leadership, ams OSRAM has improved its financial base and clearly positioned itself in the digital photonics field, which encompasses technologies like augmented reality and data communication.
Kamper, who became CEO in April 2023, launched the efficiency program shortly after taking office. The initiative focused the portfolio, streamlined group structures, and reduced debt. A key milestone was the sale of the non-optical sensing business, completed on July 1, 2026, which established a sound financial foundation for profitable growth in the optical core business.
Kamper's career at OSRAM began in 1994, and he held various leadership roles in Europe and the United States. He previously served as CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit, where he pioneered microLED technology and dynamic front-end lighting. In 2018, he became CEO of Leoni AG before returning to ams OSRAM.
The extension signals confidence in Kamper's ability to drive the company's next growth phase as a focused technology leader in digital photonics. The company, with around 18,500 employees and revenues of EUR 3.3 billion in 2025, continues to innovate in areas such as smart mobility, artificial intelligence, and robotics, supported by over 12,000 patents.
