Author Ali Zokaee is significantly expanding his presence in bookstores across the Greater Toronto Area with a series of book signing events at Indigo locations. With 39 appearances confirmed from April through October 2026, and additional events expected before year-end, Zokaee is building momentum that underscores his growing readership and commercial appeal.
The tour has already generated notable reader interest. Across the first 16 signing events for which Zokaee reported sales results, stores sold an average of more than 85 percent of the copies ordered for each event, with seven appearances reaching 100 percent sell-through. One of the tour's strongest results came during Zokaee's July 25 appearance at Indigo Yonge & Eglinton in Toronto, where every available copy of Useful Quotes: True, Practical But Not Pleasing sold out in less than four and a half hours.
The success of these appearances has encouraged Zokaee to continue returning to Indigo stores throughout 2026, including locations where he is introducing his second book, The History Of Music And Cinema: Evaluation Part 1, as well as events featuring both titles. For Zokaee, the tour has become more than a series of signing events; each appearance gives him an opportunity to meet readers personally, introduce his work to new communities, and steadily grow the audience surrounding his books.
Following appearances that began April 4 at Indigo Eaton Centre, Zokaee's remaining confirmed 2026 schedule includes a diverse range of stores, from Indigo Mount Sinai Hospital to Indigo Square One. He expects to add several more appearances before year-end, bringing his 2026 total to approximately 40 bookstore events. He also plans to continue the momentum in 2027 with additional appearances featuring both books and events showcasing both titles together.
Beyond Canada, Zokaee has begun reaching out to Barnes & Noble locations in the United States as part of a longer-term effort to expand his in-person bookstore presence. His books are available through major booksellers, including Indigo, Amazon, Waterstones, and Barnes & Noble.
The high sell-through rates and rapid sellouts at events like the Yonge & Eglinton appearance highlight a strong and engaged readership, suggesting that Zokaee's books are resonating with a wide audience. This tour not only boosts his visibility in the competitive Canadian book market but also lays the groundwork for potential expansion into the United States, where Barnes & Noble stores could provide a new platform for his work.
As Zokaee continues to build his brand through these personal interactions with readers, the success of his 2026 tour may serve as a springboard for future literary projects and broader geographic reach. The consistent demand for his books at Indigo stores signals a promising trajectory for the author, who is quickly establishing himself as a notable voice in the genres of quotes and music/cinema history.
