Branicks Group CEO Sonja Warntges to Step Down After Restructuring Milestone

Sonja Warntges, Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Branicks Group AG, will step down from her role and leave the Executive Board by mutual agreement at the end of October 2026, the company announced. Warntges has been a member of the Executive Board since May 2013, initially as Chief Financial Officer, and has served as Chairwoman since October 2017. The departure marks a leadership transition for the German real estate specialist at a critical juncture.

The change matters because it comes just as Branicks reaches what Warntges described as an important milestone: an agreed-upon restructuring plan. “The past few years have been marked by successes, but also - most recently - by significant challenges,” Warntges said. “With the agreed-upon restructuring plan, we have reached an important milestone. That is why now is the right time to hand over responsibility.” Her exit signals that the company believes the heavy lifting of its restructuring is complete enough to hand the reins to a new leadership configuration.

Starting in November 2026, the Executive Board will consist of Josef Schultheis, who, in addition to his role as Chief Restructuring Officer, will assume Warntges’s previous responsibilities, and Johannes von Mutius as Chief Investment Officer. The concentration of restructuring and CEO duties in Schultheis underscores the continued importance of financial and operational stabilization as Branicks seeks to capitalize on its restructuring progress.

Branicks Group AG, formerly DIC Asset AG, is a leading German listed specialist for office and logistics real estate with over 25 years of experience and access to a broad investor network. As of June 30, 2026, it managed properties with a market value of EUR 10.1 billion across its Commercial Portfolio and Institutional Business segments. The company’s shares are listed in the Prime Standard of the German Stock Exchange. For more details, go to www.branicks.com.

The Supervisory Board Chairman thanked Warntges for her dedication during various phases of the company’s development and wished her all the best in her future endeavors. The leadership change is likely to be watched closely by investors and stakeholders as Branicks continues to execute its strategy and maintain its position in the real estate market.
