CAHEC, a nonprofit community development organization, announced the appointment of Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than four decades of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, a move that enhances CAHEC's leadership as it pursues its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services.
Sheridan retired in late 2024 after a distinguished career focused on expanding access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy. In that role, she managed complex transactions and collaborated with tax credit investors to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.
Before Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. She developed and executed the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, expanding its impact while aiding developers and partners dedicated to affordable housing. Her leadership was instrumental in directing capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States.
In 2024, Sheridan co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm offering financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners. Through this venture, she continues to support mission-driven organizations with strategic guidance and operational insight.
Her commitment to the sector extends to nonprofit board service. She currently serves on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia. This board work highlights her dedication to addressing housing instability and aiding organizations that serve vulnerable populations.
Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, said, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board." CAHEC is enthusiastic about welcoming Sheridan and anticipates her contributions as the organization continues its work in 2026 and beyond.
