China Telecom Launches OneGrowth Initiative in Asia-Pacific at Bangkok AI Summit

China Telecom has taken a significant step in its international expansion by launching the OneGrowth Global Collaboration and Co-Creation Initiative in Asia-Pacific during the China Telecom Smart APAC · AI Innovation Summit held last week in Bangkok, Thailand. The event, reported via Media OutReach Newswire, attracted nearly 400 guests from across the region, including government representatives, telecom operators, technology companies, and industry customers. The initiative marks OneGrowth's overseas debut and underscores China Telecom's commitment to deepening regional ecosystem cooperation in the digital and AI sectors.

The summit served as a platform to explore AI development trends and cooperation opportunities in digital and AI industries. The launch ceremony for OneGrowth was held with representatives from partners such as Singtel, NTT, AIS, TRUE, ETL, MEASAT, and SenseTime. Since its initial launch in 2025, OneGrowth has operated under the philosophy of "Open, Nurture, and Empower" and the commitment to "Co-creation, Sharing, Co-governance, and Win-win." Its Asia-Pacific debut represents a milestone in China Telecom's efforts to build a collaborative ecosystem that integrates global digital and AI capabilities with local industry needs.

Dr. Chomparee Chompurat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, highlighted AI as a vital engine for Thailand's digital transformation and economic growth. She noted that Thailand is accelerating AI adoption in agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and public services, while strengthening digital infrastructure such as high-performance computing, cloud services, and data centers. Dr. Chompurat emphasized the importance of responsible AI governance, talent development, and international cooperation, expressing Thailand's interest in deepening pragmatic cooperation with partners like China Telecom.

China Telecom outlined its technological capabilities, including its Xirang intelligent cloud, which manages over 118 EFLOPS of computing power, and its XingChen TokenHub, which aggregates more than 170 mainstream large models. The company is also developing XingChen AI foundation models and the TeleAgent platform to move AI from model supply to task execution. Globally, China Telecom operates in 53 countries and regions and is building a "2+5+X" computing power layout. Its AI Flow technology enables stable high-definition video transmission under extremely low bandwidth, supporting industry digital transformation.

Bill Chang, CEO of Nxera and Singtel's Digital InfraCo, discussed the coordinated build-out of networks, AI data centers, GPU and AI cloud services, and orchestration platforms, envisioning an evolution from "National AI Grid" to "Cross-border AI Corridors." This perspective aligns with China Telecom's focus on integrating computing power and connectivity to support regional AI services.

Yin Jin, CEO of China Telecom Global, emphasized Asia-Pacific's vast digitalization demand and rich application scenarios as ideal for OneGrowth's international expansion. The initiative will focus on five key areas: AI data centers (AIDC) and computing power, Token operations, vision network, satellite communications, and mobile services. The overseas edition of the TeleAgent platform will debut in Asia-Pacific, and China Telecom will pursue diverse cooperation models for AIDC business.

China Telecom Global signed memoranda of understanding with Thai operators AIS and TRUE, with the TRUE cooperation focusing on Tiantong satellite services in Thailand. Its Satellite Communications Branch signed MoUs with MEASAT and Extend Networks for Tiantong services in Malaysia. These agreements reflect the initiative's practical approach to localized collaboration.

The summit also featured insights from industry leaders. Jeff Shi of SenseTime discussed taking Chinese AI innovation global, from Token factories to industry applications. Kota Yamashita of NTT Mobility shared Japan's experience in autonomous driving and smart mobility. Tee Seeumpornroj of AIS spoke on building an AI infrastructure hub using 5G-Advanced networks and AI-ready data centers.

The OneGrowth initiative's Asia-Pacific launch matters because it signals China Telecom's intent to shape regional AI infrastructure and applications through partnerships, potentially accelerating AI adoption and digital transformation across the region. By integrating cloud, network, and AI resources, China Telecom aims to foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive digital ecosystem in Asia-Pacific.
