Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CSE: CTTT) (FRA: X9V) (“CiTech”) announced an increased scope Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Babcock International Group (“Babcock”) to co-develop and build a rapidly deployable platform integrating 5G communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities. The expanded agreement now covers not only the Ukrainian Armed Forces but also all of Europe and Southeast Asia.
The original MOU, signed at the DSEI expo in London in September 2025, focused exclusively on the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence’s request to supply 50 of CiTech’s Nexus 20 platforms. The increased scope MOU extends the regions of collaboration to include Europe and Southeast Asia, reflecting significant opportunities for the Nexus 20 platform across these areas.
“It is fantastic to expand the scope of collaboration with Babcock and to now work together to promote the Nexus 20 into the new regions added,” said Brenton Scott, CEO of CiTech. “With our first Nexus 20 due to arrive in the EU in April 2026 for whole of region demonstrations, we are looking forward to 2026 with confidence.”
Babcock International Group is a FTSE 100 international defence company operating in the UK, Australasia, Canada, France, and South Africa, with exports to additional markets. The company delivers complex support and product solutions to enhance defence capabilities and critical assets. Babcock’s purpose is to create a safe and secure world, together.
CiTech, listed on the CSE with operations in Perth, Western Australia, develops autonomous, high-capacity, rapidly deployable technology for essential services. The company targets mining, defence, border security/surveillance, and emergency services sectors with its first product, the Nexus 16, and now the Nexus 20. Using patented technologies, CiTech’s self-deploying platform (SDP) addresses limitations in tower strength and rapid deployment for communication solutions. The SDP supports radio equipment including LTE and other payloads such as surveillance and anti-drone systems. CiTech has completed research and development and is commercializing its products. This MOU expansion signals growing demand for integrated mobile communications and surveillance platforms in conflict zones and border security contexts. The Nexus 20’s ability to rapidly deploy 5G, ISR, and counter-UAS capabilities makes it a versatile asset for military and security forces. The collaboration between CiTech and Babcock leverages Babcock’s international defence footprint and CiTech’s innovative platform to address urgent needs in Ukraine and other regions facing security challenges.
The announcement comes as European and Southeast Asian nations increasingly invest in modernizing defence and security infrastructure. The Nexus 20 platform offers a turnkey solution that can be deployed quickly in remote or contested environments, providing critical connectivity and situational awareness. The first platform’s arrival in the EU in April 2026 will enable demonstrations across the region, potentially leading to further contracts.
