CLIMB KOREA Leverages International Competition Wall Expertise to Expand Across Asia

CLIMB KOREA, a South Korean specialist in artificial climbing walls and adventure facilities, is expanding its business across Asia, drawing on its experience building competition walls for major international sport climbing events held in South Korea. The move signals the company's intent to translate domestic expertise into regional growth, targeting a sport climbing market that has gained momentum since the discipline's Olympic debut.

The company's portfolio includes competition walls used at the 2022 IFSC Climbing Asian Championships, the 2022, 2023 and 2024 IFSC Climbing World Cups in Seoul, and the 2023 IFSC Climbing Youth World Championships in Seoul. The events were held under the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), now known as World Climbing. At home, CLIMB KOREA built the competition wall for the climbing events of the 106th Korean National Sports Festival in Busan in 2025, a venue designed to meet international standards for lead, bouldering and speed climbing. It also completed the Gimhae bouldering wall in 2024 and the Mokpo International Sport Climbing Center in 2023.

Through these projects, the company has developed expertise in the technical requirements of competition venues, including structural stability, precision installation and consistent climbing surfaces. The 2023 IFSC Climbing World Cup in Seoul saw multiple speed climbing world records, underscoring the importance of standardized infrastructure and consistent conditions for elite athletes. That record-setting context matters beyond prestige: as more Asian countries host international events, demand is likely to grow for walls that meet World Climbing specifications, and CLIMB KOREA is positioning itself as a supplier capable of meeting those standards.

CLIMB KOREA manufactures its walls, panels, holds and equipment at its own factory. World Climbing lists the company as a Recognised Speed Wall Manufacturer and a producer of Recognised Speed Holds. According to the company, it also holds certifications to EN 12572-1 and EN 12572-3, covering safety requirements for artificial climbing structures with protection points and climbing holds, respectively. These credentials are significant because event organizers and facility operators increasingly require certified equipment to host sanctioned competitions and to insure venues.

The company plans to apply this experience to sport climbing facilities and related projects across Asia, providing solutions tailored to local requirements while drawing on internationally recognized technical and safety standards. CLIMB KOREA presented its climbing walls and safety solutions at the Indonesia Sport Facility Expo (ISFEX 2025) in November 2025, and it has signed a memorandum of understanding with a golf and resort operator in Vietnam. Those steps suggest a strategy of entering new markets through partnerships with leisure and resort operators, rather than relying solely on public sports infrastructure.

"Our focus is on creating climbing walls that athletes and everyday users can trust, through user-centered safety design and technology that optimizes the climbing environment," a CLIMB KOREA representative said. "We will continue to build facilities that meet international specifications as we expand from South Korea into Asia and pursue opportunities in the wider global market."
