CMX Gold & Silver Corp. Advances Clayton Silver Project with Stockpile Processing and Underground Assessment

CMX Gold & Silver Corp. (CSE: CXC) (OTC: CXXMF) is advancing its Clayton Silver Project in Idaho with a two-pronged strategy to assess the underground resource and exploit an above-ground stockpile. The company plans to install an ore-sorting system on site to process the stockpile, which potentially holds 1,000,000 tons or more of mineralized material left unprocessed during historical operations. Additionally, CMX is implementing a work program that includes site preparation, geophysical survey, drilling, and staking to assess the full potential of the underground resource.

The Clayton Silver Mine, located in the Bayhorse Mining District, was discovered in the late 1800s and operated from 1935 to 1986, when low prices forced its closure. During five decades of operation, an estimated 2,145,652 tons of ore were mined and processed, producing silver, zinc, copper, lead, and gold. However, due to the small scale of mining operations, the Clayton ore bodies were never fully mined, and mined material at grades considered too low was left unprocessed, creating the stockpile. This stockpile, along with the unexplored mine, represents significant exploitation potential for CMX, which holds a 100% interest through its wholly owned U.S. subsidiary.

The timing of the company's efforts aligns with a growing demand-supply deficit in the silver market. According to the Silver Institute's World Silver Survey 2026, demand for silver reached 1.13 billion ounces in 2025, against a documented supply of 1.09 billion ounces (https://ibn.fm/iO2ky). Mine production accounted for 846.6 million ounces of the supply. The deficit is projected to grow further, representing an opportunity that CMX intends to exploit.

Silver is widely used in industrial and non-industrial applications, from the manufacture of electronics, water purifiers, and photovoltaics to jewelry and silverware. The panoply of use cases has driven demand, and the projected supply deficit suggests that prices may rise, benefiting companies with silver assets. CMX's plan to process the stockpile could provide a near-term revenue stream, while the underground assessment aims to define a longer-term resource.

The company's progress and updates are available in its newsroom at https://ibn.fm/CXXMF. CMX Gold & Silver Corp. is focused on exploiting the Clayton Silver Project's potential to capitalize on the favorable silver market dynamics.
