Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CSE: CTTT) (OTC: CITLF) (FRA: X9V), a developer of autonomous mobile communications and security platforms, announced a joint venture to co-develop and commercialize an Arctic-ready version of its Nexus platform. The equally owned JV will focus on adapting the Nexus system for extreme-environment conditions, targeting defence and industrial sectors in northern regions.
The Arctic Nexus platform is designed to support communications, monitoring, and operations in remote environments, including northern defence and industrial applications. The joint venture will target the growing market for Arctic defence, surveillance, and communications infrastructure, driven by increasing strategic activity across northern regions. Under the proposed agreement, CiTech will contribute a Nexus platform unit and provide engineering support to adapt the system for Arctic conditions. The JV partners will collaboratively develop new intellectual property, including advancements in Arctic readiness, sensor integration, and scaled deployment. The JV will also seek to identify customers and partners across North America within defence and commercial industries.
Brenton Scott, CEO of Critical Infrastructure Technologies, commented: “This partnership will establish an important step in expanding the Nexus platform into Arctic and remote operating environments.” The joint venture will also establish a facility in British Columbia to support integration and Arctic testing.
CiTech’s Nexus platform is a self-deploying, autonomous system designed to deliver high-capacity mobile communications and security. The platform supports radio equipment including LTE and various payloads such as surveillance and anti-drone systems. The company has completed research and development and is commercializing its first product, the Nexus 16.
The announcement comes amid heightened geopolitical interest in Arctic sovereignty and security. The JV aims to address the need for reliable communications and surveillance infrastructure in extreme conditions, where traditional solutions face limitations. The partnership is expected to accelerate deployment for both defence and industrial applications, including mining and emergency services in remote areas.
