The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) announced that DesignInspire 2025 will take place from December 3 to 6 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The opening day features an exclusive VIP preview, followed by free admission for industry professionals and the public over the next three days. This year's theme, "Where Connections Spark Inspiration," brings together over 250 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions, including a significant expansion of Parisian design authority Maison&Objet under the identity Maison&Objet Intérieurs Hong Kong 2025.
Maison&Objet Intérieurs Hong Kong 2025 nearly doubles its exhibition area and presents three core sections: Design Factory, Design Showcase, and Le Club. Design Factory focuses on sustainability and material innovation, featuring projects by Belgian designer Lionel Jadot and Thai bamboo artist Korakot Aromdee. Design Showcase extends to seven design capitals, with contributions from renowned figures such as French designer Hubert Le Gall, Hong Kong architect Steve Leung, and Paul Bonlarron, recipient of the Maison&Objet Design Showcase Award 2025.
Two cross-cultural collaborative spaces highlight the fusion of Hong Kong and Italian creativity. BOTTEGA HONG KONG, designed by international design master Alan Chan along with UNVEIL and Su Chang Design Research Office, draws inspiration from Italian alimentari and Hong Kong's "si dor" corner shops. The pavilion features 15 brands from both regions, including a collaboration between Italy's Francesco Maglia and Hong Kong's Leung So Kee to create a bespoke umbrella adorned with the skylines of both cities. TINY STUDIO, curated by emerging artist Chilai Howard, brings together 12 design collectives from Hong Kong and Italy, offering interactive experiences spanning digital art, music, sculpture, and fragrance design.
HKTDC Assistant Executive Director Anna Cheung stated, "DesignInspire has long been a flagship event in Hong Kong’s cultural and creative calendar, driving the growth of our creative industries and strengthening the connection between local designers and the global design community." She emphasized that the exhibition aims to foster deeper collaboration between creative and business sectors, particularly with potential buyers from hospitality, real estate, luxury dining, and cultural tourism industries.
In addition to the exhibitions, DesignInspire offers the InnoTalks series with 14 sessions on topics like creative collectibles, IP development, AI applications, and inclusive design. Creative workshops will engage the public in multi-sensory creation, art-tech integration, and sustainable design. Concurrent events include the Business of IP Asia Forum, Entrepreneur Day, and Start-up Express: International Edition 2025, providing broader networking opportunities.
The event is co-organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA). For more information, visit the official website at https://designinspire.hktdc.com/en.
