DM Clinical Research is commemorating its 20th anniversary, a milestone that underscores its evolution from a vision into a national leader in clinical research. Founded in 2006 with the goal of making clinical trials more accessible and patient-centered, the organization has grown into one of the nation's foremost integrated clinical research networks. Over the past two decades, it has expanded its footprint across the country, deepened its therapeutic expertise, and enhanced its research capabilities, all while maintaining a steadfast focus on accelerating access to innovative therapies.
Reflecting on the journey, Mohammad Millwala, Founder and CEO, emphasized the human element at the core of the organization. "Reaching 20 years is incredibly meaningful to me. When I think about DM Clinical Research, I think first about the people, the employees who have poured their talent and heart into this organization, and the patients who have trusted us to be part of their healthcare journey," he said. "We've experienced so much growth and change over the past two decades, but what has never changed is our commitment to our patients and to doing meaningful work that makes a difference. I'm incredibly proud of what we've built together, and I'm even more excited about what we can accomplish in the next 20 years."
Currently, DM Clinical Research operates a growing network of more than 35 research sites, providing access to a patient population of 1.97 million individuals across 32 therapeutic areas. Over the past 20 years, the organization has enrolled more than 35,000 patients in clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of safe, life-changing therapies for patients globally. The network partners with leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare organizations, as well as contract research organizations (CROs), to conduct high-quality trials with a focus on strong enrollment, diverse patient access, and operational excellence.
A key aspect of DM Clinical's mission is expanding access to research, particularly in underserved communities. By integrating local physician relationships with centralized infrastructure, the organization ensures that more patients have the opportunity to participate in trials that could benefit their health. This approach has earned industry recognition, including the SPRIA Award for vaccine enrollment, the Excellence in Patient Centricity Award, ViE's Best Clinical Trial Network Award, and the SCRS Site Spark Award. In 2025, CEO Mohammad Millwala was honored with the SCRS Christine K. Pierre Site Impact Award for his leadership.
The 20th anniversary theme, "Champions of Clinical Research: 20 Years of Impact," reflects the teamwork, innovation, and dedication that have driven growth. Guided by core values—Think Forward, Find a Way, Create Impact, Own It, and Win Together—DM Clinical continues to invest in its people and expand access to research. Looking ahead, the company plans further expansion into new communities, broader therapeutic expertise, and increased investment in technologies that improve patient access to clinical trials. As Millwala noted, "The next chapter for DM Clinical is about expanding access to research, embracing new technologies, and ensuring more patients have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials that can change lives."
