PASADENA, CA — The Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit served as a central attraction at Pasadena's 30th Annual National Night Out on August 4, 2026, at Jefferson Park, drawing residents together for an evening of community building and drug awareness.
The exhibit featured high-impact audio and visual displays, along with free Truth About Drugs educational booklets covering substances such as alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs, and synthetics. Visitors, including youth and community members, were invited to take the "Drug-Free Pledge," committing to remain drug-free and to set a positive example for others.
The event, hosted by the Pasadena Police Department with support from the Fire Department and various community partners, offered a range of activities, including games, giveaways, resource booths, and fire engines open for exploration. Attendees also had the opportunity to meet helicopter pilots and first responders, fostering a sense of connection between the community and those who serve them.
One of the highlights of the evening was the appearance of mounted officers on horseback, who rode through the park, drawing excitement from children and adults alike. The presence of these officers underscored the collaborative spirit of the event, which aims to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
Police Chief Gene Harris emphasized the importance of such gatherings, stating, "National Night Out celebrates the partnerships that keep Pasadena safe." This sentiment was echoed by many attendees who appreciated the chance to engage with local officials in a relaxed and family-friendly environment.
The Drug-Free World Mobile Exhibit is an initiative of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, a nonprofit international drug education program sponsored by the Church of Scientology and Scientologists. The foundation supports the humanitarian goal of creating a drug-free, crime-free world where human rights are a reality, as envisioned by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard.
