Investing With Purpose™, a faith-driven multifamily real estate firm based in Bluffton, S.C., held its first serve day at Redwood Hollow on Oct. 3, marking the first hands-on community event at the 72-unit property since the firm acquired it in July. The event brought together team members, investors, property management, and sponsor partners to celebrate fall with residents, delivering themed care packages to residents’ doors. The initiative is part of the firm’s Purposed Care Initiative (PCI), the framework it uses to care for residents at each of its communities. On-site care coordinators build relationships with residents and connect them with practical and spiritual support, and serve days bring the wider team onto the property to work alongside them.
The firm’s next community effort comes on Saturday, Nov. 7, National Apartment Prayer Walk Day, when local churches adopt apartment communities in their neighborhoods and walk the grounds praying for the people who live there. Care coordinators at Investing With Purpose communities will take part. Team members will also walk communities near their own homes, including properties the firm does not own. The observance is open to anyone, at any apartment community, anywhere in the country. Participants simply choose a community near them and pray for its residents as they walk.
“Buying Redwood Hollow was the start of our responsibility to the people who live there, not the end of a transaction,” said Steven Libman, founder of Investing With Purpose. “A serve day and a prayer walk are simple things, but they tell residents that someone is paying attention to their lives. We would love to see people across the country walk the community down the street from them on Nov. 7 and pray for the families inside.” The announcement matters because it signals a shift in how some real estate investors approach multifamily properties, moving beyond physical maintenance to active community engagement. By institutionalizing care coordinators and serve days, Investing With Purpose is betting that relational investment can improve resident retention and satisfaction, potentially offering a replicable model for an industry often criticized for impersonal management. The national prayer walk further extends this vision, inviting public participation and positioning the firm as a catalyst for broader community involvement. For investors and operators, the initiative underscores the growing emphasis on social impact alongside financial returns. More information about the firm is available at iwpurpose.com.
