Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQB: FTZFF) announced the start of a 750 line-kilometre mobile magnetotelluric (MobileMT) heliborne survey at its Caballos Copper Project in Valparaiso, Chile. The survey, conducted by Expert Geophysics Surveys Inc., is expected to cover the entire property within two days, with interpreted results anticipated in March 2026.
MobileMT is a leading geophysical technology that aids in identifying subsurface geologic structures, alteration halos, and contrasting lithologies. Complementary VLF-EM data will provide near-surface electromagnetic information, enhancing resolution of shallow features. Combining these methods should identify deep-seated faults, lithological contacts, and structures controlling mineral systems from surface to depths of approximately 1 km to 2 km, depending on local geology.
Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO, stated: "We expect the MobileMT data will provide a three-dimensional image of the Caballos Project area, including under younger volcanic rocks to the east. We hope the survey will assist us in tracing the outline of the mineralized breccias already intersected through drilling and help vector towards the origin of mineralized breccias containing clasts of mineralized porphyry rocks." He added that MobileMT is known for identifying conductive sulphides potentially linked to mineralized porphyry intrusive centres and resistive bodies representative of intrusions.
