Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) has reported results from 15 diamond drill holes at the Tenorita area of its Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, highlighting wide zones of copper mineralization in leachable material close to the surface. The company is currently operating three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig on site, with drilling ongoing.
Key results include drill hole BRT-DDH072, which returned 111.9 meters grading 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including an 18-meter interval grading 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 intersected 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy, noted that the best hole, #72, lies east of hole #70, confirming consistent shallow mineralization for about 300 meters across the widest part of the Tenorita area.
Fitzroy has completed 13,036 meters of drilling across 78 diamond drill holes since February 2026. The company plans to complete an additional 9,000 meters in 2026 with three objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories for a pre-feasibility study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets. Currently, one diamond drill rig is testing shallow sulphides north of the historical Manto Negro pit in the Ortuzar area, another is testing the southern extension in the Nativo area, the third is drilling the northeast extension of Tenorita, and the RC rig is exploring regional targets.
Drill hole BRT-DDH072 also included sub-intervals of 19 meters at 1.50% copper from 32 meters, 18 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters, and 18 meters at 1.91% copper from 111 meters. Cross-section A-A' (available in the company's release) shows broad and shallow mineralization in the south-central portion of Tenorita, covering approximately 300 meters east-west. Historical drill hole 7 intersected 25 meters at 0.72% copper from 158 meters, while more recent hole 27 returned 133 meters at 0.46% copper from 22 meters, and hole 58 returned 75 meters at 0.82% copper from 9 meters (previously reported).
The company follows strict quality assurance and quality control procedures, including the insertion of blanks, pulp duplicates, and certified copper standards every 20 samples. Samples are processed at ALS-Patagonia laboratory in Copiapo, and the Qualified Person, Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans (P.Geo., Ph.D., PMP), has reviewed and approved the technical information. Fitzroy aims to complete the drill-out of the Tenorita area in August to stay on track for production in early 2028.
