FP Trading, a forex and financial markets broker, has launched its first proprietary mobile app for iOS and Android, consolidating account management and trading into a single application. While clients could already trade on mobile devices through MT4, MT5 and cTrader, the new app is the broker's own product and represents a shift toward a unified, branded mobile experience. The move matters because it gives FP Trading direct control over the user interface and feature set, potentially improving client retention and differentiating the broker in a crowded market where third-party platforms are the norm.
The app allows clients to open and manage accounts, follow live prices, place and manage trades, and monitor open positions in real time. It was developed for traders who want to act on market moves outside of a desktop setting, with a simple layout and access to order execution through FP Trading. "Trading doesn't stop when a trader leaves their desk, and neither should their tools," said Narayan Joshi, General Manager at FP Trading. "The app gives traders the speed, control and tools they expect, in a form that fits wherever they are." The emphasis on speed and control suggests the broker is targeting active traders who need to respond quickly to volatility, a segment that often values execution quality and mobile reliability over platform familiarity.
A central feature is FP Trader, an FP Trading account with integrated charting tools that lets traders place orders directly from the chart. FP Trader offers more than 100 indicators, drawing tools, real-time data and price alerts, with charting, data and order execution available within a single account. It is included at no extra cost and does not require a separate subscription. "FP Trader is a natural fit for the app," added Narayan Joshi. "Traders who build their ideas on the chart can now act on them directly, on mobile, with FP Trading's execution behind every order." By bundling charting and execution without an added fee, FP Trading lowers the barrier for traders who might otherwise pay for separate charting software, which could strengthen loyalty and increase trading activity on its platform.
The app is designed for both new and experienced traders, allowing users to move from viewing a market to placing an order in a few taps, with alerts notifying them of price moves when they are away from the screen. Existing clients can access their accounts through the app, while new traders can register from their phone and begin trading once their account is set up. The launch also comes with client protection measures: FP Trading holds an insolvency insurance policy placed with certain underwriters at Lloyd's, with an aggregate limit of $1,000,000, subject to policy terms, and is a member of the Financial Commission, which provides independent dispute resolution with compensation of up to €20,000 per eligible complaint. These protections may reassure traders considering a mobile-first approach, though the broker's risk warning notes that 75.5% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading derivatives with this provider, underscoring the high risk involved.
