GALIFF Celebrates 15 Years with Mexico as Country of Honor at Atlanta's Fox Theatre

The Georgia Latino Film Alliance (GALFA) announced the 15th Annual Georgia Latino International Film Festival (GALIFF), a milestone quinceañera celebration scheduled for September 30 through October 4, 2026, at Atlanta's historic Fox Theatre. This year, Mexico has been named the Country of Honor, bringing a spotlight to its rich cinematic tradition.

For fifteen years, GALIFF has served as a platform for underrepresented voices, evolving from a bold vision into one of the Southeast's premier Latino film festivals. The event has championed independent filmmakers and connected Georgia audiences with stories from Latin America and beyond. This anniversary is not just a celebration of longevity but a testament to the festival's role in launching careers and fostering a cultural community.

Yvette Moise, Co-Founder and President of GALFA/GALIFF, emphasized the significance of the milestone: "This Quinceañera is more than an anniversary, it's a celebration of every filmmaker, volunteer, sponsor, and audience member who believed in our mission." She noted that honoring Mexico is especially meaningful due to its global influence on storytelling.

The festival is also entering a new digital era with a redesigned galiff.org, providing a year-round hub for film enthusiasts to engage with events, screenings, submissions, and educational programming. This digital expansion aims to maintain engagement beyond the festival week.

Dr. Jose Marquez, Founder and CEO of GALFA/GALIFF, sees the anniversary as an inclusive celebration: "This isn't just our celebration, it's Atlanta's Hispanic Heritage celebration." He invites filmmakers, volunteers, and partners to be part of the most ambitious festival yet, highlighting the collaborative spirit that has driven GALIFF's success.

The festival's growth has been supported by sponsors and community partners, including The Fox Theatre, Ole Mexican Foods, Fulton Films, VensureHR, 222Creative, WIFTA, Georgia Films, Dekalb Entertainment Commission, and the Georgia Latino Film Alliance. Their commitment has been vital in elevating diverse voices and creating opportunities for emerging talent.

As GALIFF celebrates its quinceañera, it promises five days of cinema, culture, and community, bringing together audiences to experience the power of storytelling without borders. Festival passes, tickets, and sponsorship opportunities are available at galiff.org.
