GetLocals Partners with Klarna to Offer Flexible Payment Options for Tours and Experiences

GetLocals, a leading online marketplace for private guided tours in Eastern Europe, announced a new partnership with Klarna, the global digital bank and flexible payments provider. Starting in mid-January, GetLocals customers will have access to Klarna's payment options at checkout, including Pay in Full, Pay in 30 Days, Pay in 3 interest-free instalments, and financing. This collaboration aims to offer greater transparency, convenience, and control over travel bookings.

"At GetLocals, we put the needs and a convenient booking experience of our customers at the center of everything we do," said Stefan Hendrick, CEO of GetLocals. "By leveraging our digital capabilities and partnering with Klarna we can now offer greater choice and flexibility in how customers pay for their experiences." The partnership underscores GetLocals' commitment to customer-centric innovation and its mission to deliver smarter ways to pay.

Irina Enii, Co-Founder of GetLocals, highlighted the growing demand for flexible payment options in travel. "This partnership makes clear the growing global demand for greater flexibility and control when booking travel experiences. With a single integration, GetLocals is now bringing Klarna to travellers across 15 countries—providing a smoother, smarter booking experience that fits the way people prefer to pay today."

The integration is especially significant for younger travelers, who often prefer digital booking and may be cash-constrained. According to GetLocals, 51% of those booking cultural, historic, and local tour experiences last year were Gen Z or Millennials. By offering Klarna's flexible payment methods, GetLocals meets the needs of this growing segment of digital-native travelers.

GetLocals operates in 15 Eastern European countries, offering tours from local experts and exclusive access to attractions. The partnership with Klarna is expected to boost bookings by reducing financial barriers. Travelers can explore experiences through GetLocals Moldova Tours, GetLocals Tallinn Tours, GetLocals Bucharest Tours, and other regional offerings.

This move positions GetLocals to capitalize on the rising demand for unique experiences backed by a digital payment system that is as intuitive and dynamic as its online platform. The partnership highlights the importance of payment flexibility in the travel industry, particularly for experiences that often require upfront payment.
