Golden Cariboo Acquires Hixon Camp to Enable Year-Round Exploration at Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine

Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has completed the acquisition of a 5.36-acre freehold property in Hixon, British Columbia, for a total purchase price of $300,000 CAD, the company announced on October 21, 2026. The property, comprising two adjacent lots on Highway 97, was first disclosed in the company’s May 19, 2026 news release, and Golden Cariboo now holds title to the site, which will serve as a camp for its exploration activities.

The acquisition is a strategic investment in the company’s operational readiness and long-term capacity. According to the announcement, the Hixon-based camp will play an important role in supporting continuous exploration and development activities at Golden Cariboo’s nearby Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property, enabling the company to operate 12 months a year. The move is particularly significant because it allows Golden Cariboo to maintain field operations through winter months, a capability that many of its peer companies lack.

Company President and CEO J. Frank Callaghan emphasized the competitive advantage this provides. “Being able to work 12 months a year sets Golden Cariboo apart from many peer group companies,” Callaghan stated. “This acquisition will support those efforts and the Company’s focus on building upon and expanding its inaugural NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate announced on September 30, 2026.” The ability to sustain exploration year-round could accelerate the company’s progress in expanding its resource base at the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property, which is located 4 kilometers northeast of Hixon.

Golden Cariboo has already mobilized its Atco 5 unit skid-mounted trailers to the camp to provide near-future accommodation and operational support infrastructure for field personnel and contractors. The company is also advancing site preparations: water studies, permitting, and engineered plans are currently in progress to assist with the installation of camp infrastructure. Aqua Tech Ltd from Kelowna and Western Water Associates Ltd out of nearby Prince George have been onsite to complete water testing and water quality analysis, which includes review by Northern Health. Results are pending, and either the existing water licence at the camp will be transferred to the company or a new licence may need to be applied for. Additionally, Golden Cariboo has engaged Prince George-based L&M Engineering Ltd. to complete engineering plans and permitting for either an upgraded or new septic system to support the camp, ensuring the site will be fully functional and compliant with applicable regulations.

The property purchase and infrastructure work reflect Golden Cariboo’s broader strategy of rediscovering the Cariboo Gold Rush through targeted drilling and trenching programs on its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property. That property is bordered by Osisko Gold Group Inc. and is located along a favourable corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults over a 96,183-hectare area. The company’s inaugural NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate, announced in September 2026, provides a foundation that Golden Cariboo now aims to build upon and expand.
