Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. has released an inaugural independent Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for its 100%-owned Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property in central British Columbia, marking a significant milestone for the company and the region. The estimate, prepared by Sue Bird, P.Eng., of Bird Resource Consulting Corp., an independent Qualified Person under NI 43-101, reports 10 million tonnes at 0.56 g/t gold equivalent (AuEq) for 178,000 ounces of indicated gold, plus 71 million tonnes at 0.44 g/t AuEq for 1.0 million ounces of inferred gold, using a 0.15 g/t AuEq cut-off and an effective date of September 26, 2026.
The resource is particularly notable because it was defined from only 24 of the company's 30 drill holes, totaling less than 8,500 metres of drilling. President and CEO Frank Callaghan stated, "This inaugural mineral resource estimate is a tremendous achievement for Golden Cariboo and validates the strength of the Halo discovery." He emphasized that the new Halo deposit occurs over a strike length of 1,150 metres by about 420 metres wide and remains open in all directions. The Main zone and four other parallel, similar-styled geophysical and geochemical targets with multi-kilometre potential remain outside the current estimate, providing a compelling opportunity for future resource growth.
The project benefits from excellent existing infrastructure, located only 4 kilometres from Hixon, BC, with year-round road access and an existing rail corridor running through the community. Major suppliers, contractors, and regional mining support services are readily accessible from nearby Prince George and Quesnel, both approximately 45 minutes away. This established network positions the project to efficiently advance exploration and development activities while maximizing opportunities for local employment and long-term economic benefits throughout the Cariboo region.
Readers should refer to the detailed mineral resource statement in Table 1. Inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate for the Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine Property at the Base Case cutoff - Effective Date September 26, 2026, and a sensitivity analysis in Table 2 is provided to illustrate the sensitivity of the estimate to cut-off grade. The base-case cut-off used for the Mineral Resource Statement is highlighted. Sensitivity cases do not constitute alternative Mineral Resource Statements. A long-section through the center of the deposit is also available via Click to see the figure which is a long-section through the center of the deposit, looking SW at Az=235o. The figure plots the composited and block Au grades for both the Halo and North Hixon zones of the deposit. The resource pit is shown in black with.
The company will file an independent NI 43-101 technical report supporting the MRE on SEDAR+ within 45 days. Investors can find more information on the company's website at www.goldencariboo.com, and the original release is available at www.newmediawire.com.
The MRE's significance lies in its potential to transform Golden Cariboo from an exploration company into a resource-stage developer. With over 1.0 million ounces of inferred gold and 178,000 ounces of indicated gold already outlined from limited drilling, the project demonstrates strong growth potential. The company intends to use the MRE as the foundation for ongoing step-out and infill drilling at the Halo deposit, targeting upgrades of Inferred to Indicated, and implementing metallurgical testwork and environmental baseline studies.
However, investors should note that mineral resources are not mineral reserves and do not have demonstrated economic viability. The estimate is subject to various risks, including permitting, First Nations consultation, and commodity price fluctuations. No metallurgical testing has been carried out yet, and the company has not completed a preliminary economic assessment or feasibility study. As Callaghan noted, the project's strong growth potential is complemented by excellent infrastructure, but further work is required to advance the project toward development.
