Greenland Mines' Sarfartoq Initial Assessment Reveals Up to $2.05 Billion Pre-Tax NPV, Positioning Western Rare Earth Supply

Greenland Mines Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRML) has released an independent Initial Assessment (IA) for its Sarfartoq Nd-Pr Rare Earth Element Project in southwest Greenland, revealing a high-case pre-tax net present value (NPV) of up to approximately $2.05 billion at an 8% real discount rate and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 118.6%. The assessment, which includes Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resources, also outlines a base case with a pre-tax NPV of up to $1.49 billion and an IRR of 92.7% when Inferred resources are excluded.

The IA is based on the ST1 deposit, which occupies less than 1% of the company's 191-square-kilometer exploration license. The project is designed for a nine-year mine life, processing 12.2 million tons at an annual rate of 1.4 million tons. At 2025 consumption levels, the planned Sarfartoq NdPr oxide production would represent approximately 34% of NdPr oxide refined outside China during each scheduled operating year, highlighting its potential significance in the global rare earth supply chain.

Western-aligned critical minerals developers like Greenland Mines are increasingly pivotal as nations seek to reduce dependence on Chinese rare earth exports. The Sarfartoq project's favorable economics and strategic location in Greenland, a territory with strong ties to Western allies, position it as a key asset in the broader effort to secure supply chains for defense, renewable energy, and electric vehicle industries.

The company plans to advance the project toward a Pre-Feasibility Study, with additional exploration beginning in September 2026. This includes targeted infill drilling, pilot-scale metallurgical test work, mine engineering planning, and continued environmental and social baseline studies. The IA's findings suggest that Sarfartoq could significantly contribute to global NdPr supply, which is critical for permanent magnets used in various high-tech applications.

Greenland Mines operates with two divisions: Mining, focusing on the Skaergaard Project in southeast Greenland and the Sarfartoq project (subject to closing of a previously announced transaction), and Biotech, including Klotho's KLTO-202 for ALS. The company's strategy is to build a multi-asset platform with exposure to rare earth magnet materials, precious metals, and selected midstream processing opportunities, advancing its North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor vision.

The release of the IA is a milestone for Greenland Mines, as it provides a robust valuation and underscores the project's potential to become a significant supplier of rare earth elements outside China. With the global push for critical mineral security, this development could attract attention from investors and stakeholders looking to diversify their supply chains.
