Hayhurst Law PLLC Awards 2026 Hayhurst Scholarship to Ashley Yoho

Hayhurst Law PLLC has named Ashley Yoho as the recipient of the 2026 Hayhurst Scholarship, an award designed to support students who demonstrate perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to community impact. Yoho, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology student at West Liberty University and a Supervised Psychologist Student Intern, was selected for her personal story of overcoming trauma and her dedication to becoming a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.

“Receiving the Hayhurst Scholarship is both an honor and a profound affirmation of my personal, educational, and professional journey,” Yoho said. “Without personal resilience, and a great deal of grit, I could have easily allowed my experienced trauma to define me. Instead, I made the conscious decision to let it fuel my determination.”

The scholarship funds will help Yoho cover the costs of the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology, a critical step toward her goal of providing compassionate clinical care to her community. Her long-term aim is to help individuals find healing and stability, reflecting the very qualities the scholarship was created to honor.

Attorney Eric Hayhurst, founder of Hayhurst Law PLLC, established the scholarship to give back to West Virginia students who exhibit resilience and purpose. Hayhurst, a native West Virginian and son of blue-collar parents, built his personal injury firm on values shaped by his small-town upbringing. “Investing in students like Ashley reflects our firm’s values and broader commitment to supporting our fellow West Virginians,” the firm stated.

The Hayhurst Scholarship underscores the firm’s dedication to championing higher education and recognizing those who turn adversity into a force for good. Ashley Yoho’s journey embodies the perseverance and dedication that the award was designed to honor.
