Helus Pharma Partners With TARA Mind to Boost Clinical Trial Recruitment for Phase 3 Depression Study in Veterans

Helus Pharma (NASDAQ: HELP) (Cboe CA: HELP) has announced a strategic collaboration with TARA Mind, in partnership with Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions (VETS), to support clinical trial recruitment for its PARADIGM HLP003 Phase 3 program. The program is focused on treating major depressive disorder (MDD), a condition that affects millions of veterans. The collaboration aims to leverage the networks of TARA Mind and VETS to enhance veteran engagement and awareness, aligning with the April 18, 2026 Executive Order on accelerating treatments for serious mental illness.

Helus Pharma is advancing its HLP003 program, which has received Breakthrough Therapy designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The company is also developing a broader pipeline of novel serotonergic agonists (NSAs) designed to address unmet mental health needs. The partnership with TARA Mind is expected to facilitate recruitment by reaching veterans who may benefit from the investigational treatment.

“We are excited to collaborate with TARA Mind and VETS to increase awareness and access for veterans who may be eligible for our Phase 3 trial,” said a spokesperson from Helus Pharma. The collaboration underscores the company's commitment to addressing mental health challenges in the veteran community, where rates of MDD are disproportionately high.

The PARADIGM trial is evaluating HLP003 as an adjunctive treatment for MDD, aiming to provide durable improvements in mental health. Helus Pharma’s proprietary NSAs are synthetic molecules designed to activate serotonin pathways that are believed to promote neuroplasticity. In addition to HLP003, the company is developing HLP004 for generalized anxiety disorder, currently in Phase 2, and has an extensive research portfolio of investigational NSAs.
