Hike Doggie Client 'Gunnar' Pens Epic 5-Star Yelp Review From a Dog's Perspective

Hike Doggie, the premier dog hiking service based in Golden, Colorado, is celebrating a recent 5-star Yelp review from an unexpected source: one of its canine clients. Gunnar, a four-year-old Black Labrador Retriever from Denver, left an epic review of his daylong hiking adventure on June 16, written entirely from his perspective. The review, which has garnered attention for its humor and authenticity, perfectly encapsulates the brand's mission to 'make dogs as happy as they make us,' according to founder Kath Allen.

Gunnar's review begins with a disclaimer that he is a real dog and not a paid spokesdog. He describes the adventure as 'the greatest day of his life, narrowly beating the time he found a half a chicken nugget in a parking lot.' The review details his journey in one of Hike Doggie's climate-controlled 'Big Blue Busses' to the Rockies, where he explored trails, discovered 17 sticks, catalogued 43 different smells, and encountered numerous squirrels. Upon returning home, Gunnar collapsed face-first on the floor, slept for six hours, barked once in his sleep, and woke up with a leaf stuck to his butt.

Gunnar's owner, Kristi Gacke, director of sales and marketing for HHM Hotels, expressed little surprise at the review's virality. 'Gunnar has always been a very expressive doggie, quite vocal, even back when he was just a puppy,' she said. 'He's kind of been destined for greatness from the day we got him.'

Hike Doggie, founded in 2016, offers professional dog hiking services with round-trip transportation, snacks, social media snaps, and branded gear. The company has participated in over 60,000 hikes and serves over 800 dogs monthly in the Denver-metro area. It now has 10 franchisees in six states, including Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Tennessee, Georgia, and Delaware. For more information on Hike Doggie's services, visit https://hikedoggie.com. Gunnar signs off his review with a signature describing himself as 'Founder & CEO of Barkshire Hathaway, as well as the Director of Sniff Operations/Lead Squirrel Intelligence Officer, Good Boy, First Class.' The review has resonated with dog lovers and highlights the deep bond between pets and their owners, as well as the joy that outdoor adventures can bring to dogs.
