HKTDC Three Fairs Open with Debut 'Pop & Play' Pavilion Featuring 150 IPs

The 52nd HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, the 17th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and the 24th Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running through January 15. The three fairs, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, bring together over 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including new participants from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Norway, according to the HKTDC.

The fairs feature the debut 'Pop & Play' pavilion, which showcases approximately 150 popular intellectual properties (IPs) and is open to both trade buyers and the public. The pavilion offers enhanced cross-sector business opportunities and includes fair premieres and global limited-edition collectibles. Notable IPs include B.Duck, Hot Toys, LAURA, and threezero, with limited-edition items such as TUTU MOKEY collectible figurines limited to 100 pieces globally and CM Concepts' Mazinger Z Playing Cards limited to 1,500 sets. The 'Kidult World' in Hall 3E also caters to adult collectors with items like the NARUTO Collectible Metal Keychain and Transformers Generation One model kits.

Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, said the fairs are themed 'New Play for All' and cover play, growth, and creativity. She noted that the HKTDC has organized over 200 buyer missions from more than 40 countries and regions, including major e-commerce platforms, importers, and retail chains. The fairs also highlight several product trends, including pop culture and collectible toys, happy ageing products, sustainable products, learning and play combinations, and Korean film/TV-related products.

The 'Happy Ageing' label is introduced to help buyers identify toys for seniors, with over 40 exhibitors showcasing relevant products. The 'Green Solutions' label is used by more than 400 exhibitors, a 10% increase from 2025, reflecting the trend for sustainable consumption. Educational toys integrating STEM are also prominent, such as the Canadarm toy and 2-in-1 Digital Microscope & Telescope.

The 'Pop & Play' pavilion includes interactive activities such as artist sessions with Joey Thye, b.wing, Kenny Wong, and Winson Ma. A seminar on January 14 titled 'Explosive Growth of IP Economy: from Local Success to Global Reach' will feature Maxim Wang of Alibaba 1688. The Asia Toys & Games Forum on January 13 will address global strategic development, with speakers from Euromonitor International, Disney, and SGS.

The Baby Products Fair has expanded its 'World of Strollers and Gear' and 'ODM Strollers and Gear' zones, hosting about 230 exhibitors. The Stationery & School Supplies Fair welcomes New Zealand exhibitors for the first time. The fairs operate under the EXHIBITION+ model, with online access via the Click2Match platform from January 5 to 22, and Scan2Match for QR code-based networking. Free tickets for the 'Pop & Play' pavilion are available at the HKTDC website.
