Hong Kong Electronics Fair Debuts Future Industries Zone to Cement City's Innovation Hub Status

The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 3,200 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and MMI Asia Pte Ltd, the twin fairs run for four consecutive days and showcase innovations in consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, smart living, and advanced manufacturing. The debut of the Future Industries Zone underscores Hong Kong's ambition to evolve as a global technology hub, aligning with government policies to develop the city into an international innovation and technology centre.

The Future Industries Zone, jointly organised by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association and supported by the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, focuses on five frontier themes: Future Computing, Future Manufacturing, Future Marine & Quantum Technologies, Future Microelectronics, and Future Wellness. With over 100 exhibitors, the zone highlights cutting-edge technologies and hosts thematic forums featuring speakers from AWS, IBM, Lenovo, and HPE, among others. Sophia Chong, HKTDC Executive Director, noted that the zone reflects the HKTDC's commitment to supporting Hong Kong's strategic development and reinforcing its role as a superconnector.

A key highlight is the expanded RoboPark, featuring more than 120 robots demonstrating applications in commercial services, industrial logistics, entertainment, and healthcare. Exhibitors include AgiBot Innovation with its full-sized humanoid robot Agibot A3, UBTECH's Walker C1 designed for urban coexistence, and DEEP Robotics' quadruped robots Lite3 and M20. The GoGlobal Connect Zone offers advisory services to help enterprises, particularly from the Chinese Mainland, expand internationally through Hong Kong's professional services platform. As a member of the government-led GoGlobal Task Force, the HKTDC leverages this zone to provide practical support in financing, legal, accounting, and insurance areas, further solidifying Hong Kong's role as a two-way global investment hub.

The fairs also feature the Startup Zone with over 120 young enterprises, investment matching sessions, and the Hong Kong Value Creation for Technology Pitching Competition. electronicAsia, held concurrently, covers the entire electronics supply chain, from components to manufacturing services. The 11th Symposium on Innovation & Technology and the Hong Kong Electronic Forum will address AI-driven security and sustainable innovation. Under the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, online exhibitions run from 6 to 23 October, allowing global buyers to connect via the HKTDC Click2Match platform.
