The 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo and the 21st Eco Expo Asia concluded with some 62,000 buyers from 152 countries and regions, according to the organisers. The concurrent events underscored Hong Kong's role as an international trade platform, with buyers from outside the city mainly arriving from the Chinese Mainland, Taiwan, India, Korea, the US and ASEAN countries including Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.
An independent survey of more than 740 exhibitors and buyers at the two lighting fairs found that 63% of respondents expect sales to increase over the next two years, while 34% anticipate sales will remain unchanged. The Chinese Mainland (85%), the Middle East (84%) and ASEAN (84%) were identified as the most promising markets. Respondents cited artificial intelligence (54%), technological advancement (44%) and smart city development (43%) as the top three drivers of industry growth, and 86% viewed the market potential of smart lighting over the next two years as promising or very promising.
The twin lighting fairs, held under the theme "Beyond Illumination", showcased smart connectivity, healthy living and LED display technologies. The Hall of Connected Lighting brought together some 70 leading local and international brands, while the new LED Display Solution zone debuted to build a commercial LED display ecosystem. The Outdoor and Tech Light Expo added photovoltaic and energy storage solutions to support urban energy efficiency. Details of the events are available on the Autumn Lighting Fair website, the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo website and the Eco Expo Asia website.
Eco Expo Asia raised its international profile with over 340 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions and 18 pavilions, including the debut of an ASEAN Pavilion and a Qinghai Pavilion. More than 30 forums featured over 80 government officials, industry leaders and experts, drawing more than 4,400 visits. The HKTDC also introduced the GoGlobal Connect Zone, providing Chinese Mainland green enterprises with matching services to connect with Hong Kong professional services for overseas expansion.
HKTDC Associate Executive Director Silas Chu said the exhibitions demonstrated Hong Kong's advantages as an international trade platform and as a connector between the Chinese Mainland and the world, aligning with the city's first Five-Year Plan and the latest Policy Address. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) organises international exhibitions and conferences through its global network of offices, and publishes research reports on market trends. Eco Expo Asia is jointly organised by the HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, which pursues sustainability as a central pillar of its corporate strategy.
The three fairs adopted the EXHIBITION+ hybrid model, combining physical and online participation. The online component of Eco Expo Asia remains open until 5 November, while the online exhibitions for the two lighting fairs run until 6 November.
